The ARTHOUSE x ANAVAH Presents: The Skillet
Our 48 Hour Film Project Debut
With just one week’s notice, The ARTHOUSE x ANAVAH jumped into the 48 Hour Film Project—a high-speed filmmaking challenge where teams have just two days to write, shoot, and edit a short film. The result? The Skillet—a dramatic adventure short exploring legacy, grief, and the tensions that rise when family and inheritance collide.
It was a weekend packed with hustle, humor, and heart. From an overnight writing session to impromptu set design, our team came together to make something powerful under pressure. This was our first 48HFP, but definitely not our last.
We are ANAVAH
The Arthouse x ANAVAH is our creative collective that brings together artists, storytellers, and art lovers through workshops and curated events in and around Prince George's County, MD. Stay tuned for more.

"The Skillet - Generations an Ode to Varnette Honeywood" - Commemorative T-Shirt
To commemorate The Skillet and our debut in the 48 Hour Film Project, we designed a limited-edition tee inspired by the vibrant, storytelling aesthetic of Varnette Patricia Honeywood—an iconic artist known for her colorful portrayals of our everyday life. Her work, featured prominently in The Cosby Show, beautifully honored family, love and legacy—core themes also explored in our short film.
As Honeywood once said, “My art is about telling our stories the way we live them.” That spirit lives at the heart of The Skillet, and this tee is our tribute—not just to the film, but to the generations of creativity, care, and culture that shape our stories.
